Bimetal Side Plates For Impact Crusher
An innovative solution for side plates in impact crushers.
Normally, impact crusher side plates are made of chrome steel or other steel. To unwearable problem, Westom Global uses Bimetal side plates instead of them.
The chrome white iron casting plate is brazed (not overlay welding) with a mild steel back plate, the top layer of the chrome plate provides excellent wear life, and the back mild steel plate provides excellent impact resistance. The liner can be made with bolts pre-welded on the back to avoid excessive wear on hole areas.
Bimetal Side Plates Design
| Thickness of Bimetal Liners | Thickness of chrome | Thickness of back steel | Bolt types |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20mm | 12mm | 8mm | Pre-bolted Thru threaded |
| 25mm | 15-17mm | 8-10mm | Pre-bolted Thru threaded |
| 30mm | 20-22mm | 8-10mm | Pre-bolted Thru threaded |
Comparison With Other Steel
| Comparison | Advantages | Liner Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Bimetal vs Alloy steel liner | 200%-300% wear life increased No weak points at the hole area, and assembly bolts are no longer required, easier to install (Pre-bolted) | 100%-200% increased |
| Bimetal vs Manganese steel liner | 300%-400% wear life increased No weak points at the hole area, and assembly bolts are no longer required, easier to install (Pre-bolted) | 200%-300% increased |
| Bimetal vs Chrome steel liner | No risk of breakage No weak points at the hole area, and assembly bolts are no longer required, easier to install (Pre-bolted) | 80%-100% increased |
| Bimetal vs Hardfacing liner | No racks on wear face No risks of peeling off Thicker wear face, 200%-300% wear life increased | 200%-300% increased |
